FCSS makes a difference

The Family and Community and Social Services program, and specifically the Social Justice Committee are raising money for World Vision.
The committee’s goal is to raise over $600 for the charity. If they reach their goal, FCSS professor and program head, Leo Smits, will dress as a clown throughout the day, including during his lecture on Tuesday, March 17.

HSF gives students free lunch

HSF elections are fast approaching, so to help students practice their voting skills, the Humber Students’ Federation hosted a free lunch day. The options of pizza, BBQ, and Chinese food were the three choices and Chinese came out on top with the most votes.
The free lunch was served in the H Cafeteria at Lakeshore and Student Centre at North campus on Feb. 12 at noon.

Spoken Words Free Minds

Poetic spoken word interpretations of important social issues filled Humber ITAL’s Student Centre with awe and inspiration.
On Wednesday Feb. 25, Humber alumni and poet, Al St. Louis, celebrated Black History Month with students by sharing some of his art.

Humber goes to Albion Mall

The Humber Students’ Federation participated in an educational community initiative at Albion Mall on Jan. 29. The event ran from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and had a broad range of student interests for Humber ITAL. Over 200 people learned about Humber’s programs and the services it has to offer.
All academic schools participated in this event, and those present to answer questions included faculty, associate deans and students. Amanda Connolly, HSF’s Vice President of Administration, and Natalie Bobyk, HSF’s Communications Director, attended the event and represented Humber College.

Students put tastebuds to test

Close your mouth, open your eyes and you will get a big surprise.
Round after round, anxious competitors of the Taste Bud Challenge nervously waited for their next mystery mouthful.
The students had to guess what they were eating while blind-folded and being spoon-fed.
