Fighting the epidemic
January 14, 2009

by Meagan Thibeault
The flu virus is nothing new; however, it undergoes major changes approximately every ten years. When this occurs, epidemics usually result due to an increase of people getting more severe cases of the virus.
This is why Humber ITAL’s Flu Pandemic Planning Committee and its plan are imperative. The committee was formed in 2005 and it aims to prevent the flu virus from spreading at the college. It also prepares a long-term plan to deal with the event of a flu pandemic occurring at the school.
