By popular demand, XXX hypnotist Tony Lee graced Humber ITAL with his presence last Wednesday, Jan. 13 at both Lakeshore and North Campus’. With everything from air-thrusts to stripping down and dancing provocatively with resisting audience members, the hypnotize volunteers did as they wer told…and more!

“Everyday something new happens,” Lee chuckled. “Just imagine the most embarrassing, ridiculous thing someone could say or do and it usually happens in my show.”

Being a non-believer in hypnotism himself, Lee never imagined himself as a hypnotist in his earlier days.

“I never believed in [hypnotism] and thought that it was a load of ‘crock’,” Lee said. “But one day, I was with my girlfriend at the time and jokingly tried to hypnotize her and crazy enough, she went under! I couldn’t believe it!” With a background in massage therapy, it’s no wonder Lee has a natural knack for hypnotism because it allows him to focus in on his volunteers and really put themat ease—a perfect state for being hypnotized.

“A lot of people think that hypnotismis ‘flooky’ and resist from being hypnotized. What people have to understand is that hypnotismisn’t something magical that I can do; I’m just a guide to put the audience in a mode of relaxation.The rest they do themselves.”

During the show, Lee instructed the participants to do everything from self-stimulation to pretending they were rescue workers trying to save a victim trapped in a cave. The catch? The cave was conveniently the derrière of a volunteer.

The Humber Students’ Federation Programming Director Aaron Miller is always pleased when HSF books with Lee. As a regular participant in both Frosh and Frost week, Miller is never left hanging with any of Lee’s shows.

“His shows are a guaranteed success,” Miller said. “The st dents know his name and are excited whenever he comes to our events. Tony is as much a part of Humber as the Humber Hawk itself.”

With that said, look forward to another great Tony Lee show next year. And who knows? You may just be his next victim.
