For the past two weeks, the international community has banded together in order to raise funds and gather support for Haiti; the Humber Students’ Federation (HSF) is no different.
HSF departments have pulled together in order to create initiatives to raise funds through student involvement. Events that will be raising money for Haiti include popcorn sales and even candy grams for Valentines Day.
Next month’s Classified concert, which will take place on Monday, Feb. 1 in the Student Centre at North Campus, should prove to be a successful fundraiser. One hundred per cent of the proceeds from the show will go to helping Haitian survivors.
If students are really keen on giving, they can also stop by the HSF office at Lakeshore and North Campus to donate a minimum of one dollar. As a reward, students can fill out an HSF paper hat for display at the reception desk.
Other initiatives at Humber ITAL include Student Services t-shirts. For only $10, students can buy a shirt in order to support Haiti. T-shirts will be sold in the Student Centre at North campus and at H Caf at Lakeshore. Coupled with that, is the sale of the HSF OneBottle. Proceeds from both items will go to the relief effort.
Keep an eye out for HSF Public Relations staff who will be collecting donations around Lakeshore and North campuses.
