With constant rallies and propaganda embedding the message of “save our planet” into our minds, it’s no wonder the world has grasped the reigns of the “green scene.” While I’ll admit, my efforts have been few and far between when it comes to earth-saving measures, I have no problems with individuals who devote their time to such a cause and support their efforts. But like anything else, there is a line, and by transforming a traditional celebration for children and neighbourhood social event into a platform for such messages, they’ve crossed that line.

Hawks basketball aims high

Expectations are running high this year for Humber ITAL’s men’s basketball team as they prepare for the 2009-2010 season with the National Championships being the end goal. Last year the men’s team won their eleventh provincial championship, their third in the last five years. They made it to the National Championship semi-finals only to lose to a team from Calgary who won the title.
