The Green Report: Dufferin Grove Farmer;s Market
February 11, 2009

by Meagan Thibeault
When you’re shivering from cold, wet feet and icicles are forming around your nostrils, there’s nothing better to warm your mind and body than fresh, local produce and hot apple cider.
Farmer’s markets are one of the best cures for Seasonal Affective Disorder, or “winter blues”. The rainbow array of hand-picked fruits and vegetables with delicious homemade jams, cheeses and fresh herbs emanates a spring-time warmth. Plus, people who use farmer’s markets to part their clouds of gloom also help the environment by supporting local, organic foods.

The girl code: Where did it go?
February 11, 2009

by Carmen Brosseau
Alright ladies, listen up. We’ve all come across this situation at least once in our lives. When you have the choice between keeping a friendship, doing the right thing, living for yourself, or even helping out a stranger; it’s when you forget about the male species on this earth and do something for the common courtesy of your fellow woman. Sometimes you can give advice, or take it with a grain of salt. Either way it’s looking out for each other and making sure you’re not the mouse in the next cat fight.

Blink-182 of new and old
February 11, 2009

by Thomas Hurst
This past Sunday was the airing of the 51st annual Grammy Awards. It was a night where young and old performed on the same stage, various music genres came together as one and the music industry’s top talents of 2008 were honoured and showcased.
In the middle of this three and half hour entertainment package was an announcement from Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker; Blink-182 is back. I had the thrill of seeing Blink-182 perform during the summer of 2003 at Sarnia Bayfest. They were rude, they were obnoxious, they were Blink-182 at their finest. You couldn’t help but enjoy the crude humour and left almost feeling guilty about doing so.

Apple gets it right
February 11, 2009

by Corey Johnson
Before I get into the main topic of this article, I need to make it clear that I am a technology-addict. My friends often make fun of me when we walk into a Best Buy, as I own something from every section.
Whether it be a LCD TV, GPS, Xbox, bluray player, satellite radio, digital camera, iPod, smartphone, or any other piece of technological equipment, I own one.

Give Phelps a break
February 11, 2009

by Mark Millard
Before you read this, I want you to be aware this isn’t a ‘pro marijuana’ piece. Rather an observation I made and would like to discuss.
Two Sundays ago, a British newspaper published a photograph of 23-year-old Michael Phelps smoking marijuana, leading to a three month suspension from the pool and the loss of his Kellogg’s sponsorship.
