Sports teach Butts an important lesson
March 19, 2009

BY MARK MILLARD Editor-in-Chief
Heather Butts’ introduction to sports came at a young age.
Growing up in an athletic family, her parents got her into skiing when she was just four-years old. She recalls her father introducing her to hockey shortly after.
“As my brother grew up in the hockey world, so did I. I grew up as the little kid in the rinks,” Butts said. “I first got introduced to hockey by my dad, because I wanted him to come watch me and to be proud of me.”
Her parents have always played a huge role throughout her life, influencing and motivating her since an early age.

Only for the “Watchmen Club”
March 19, 2009

BY MEAGAN THIBEAULT Staff Reporter
Unless you’re part of the particular niche of diehard fans of the graphic novel “Watchmen”, the hyped-up film adaptation is probably not for you. While its impressive cinematography and eclectic soundtrack are sure to maintain the attention of any unknowledgeable viewer for the first hour, the vague background and plot holes will inevitably have them wishing they’d done their homework. Plus, the film’s abnormally long runtime will surely cause many people to nod off into dreams of being at home in bed instead of wasting their time and money.
