Hypnotist arouses laughter among other things
April 2, 2009

BY MEAGAN THIBEAULT Staff Reporter
It’s not every day you get the opportunity to witness your friends make a fool of themselves in front of a large audience; or maybe it is.
Nevertheless, on Wednesday, Mar. 5, Sailesh the Mentalist paid a visit to Humber ITAL’s North campus and provided plenty of opportunity for embarrassment and laughter.

March 19, 2009

BY MEAGAN THIBEAULT Staff Reporter
Glancing about while waiting in line to order the stir-fry special, Humber ITAL’s Food Emporium resembles any typical productive cafeteria. But a quick peek around half-open kitchen doors reveals an environment teeming with eco-efficiency initiatives.
“A lot happens in the kitchen, that perhaps others and students don’t necessarily get to see,” Director of Campus Services, Terry Kyritsis, said. “Within the kitchen production, all leftovers and food waste generated goes to a green bin and then to composting.”

Death of 112th Canadian Soldier
March 19, 2009

BY CARMEN BROSSEAU Staff Reporter
The 112th Canadian soldier died last Sunday.
To some, this brings heartache, sorrow and flooding emotions of grief and anger. But to a lot of people, I feel like it’s another number and another coffin buried beneath Canada’s history.
Everyday lives of Canadians are jam packed with work, commuting, cooking, cleaning and sleeping. A lot of us have gotten into a rut; every day is a routine of exhaustion. When we do have time to pull away from our busy schedules, it’s usually to get away from reality – not to catch up on the latest bad news the world brings. I’m not saying that everyone’s lives are like this, but I feel as if the majority of the population practises this lifestyle.
