One day, when bikes can fly ...
September 30, 2009

BY MEAGAN THIBEAULT Staff Reporter
Soon, we’ll all be pedaling through the sky, high above pedestrians and noisy traffic, weaving among skyscrapers, on a combination pulley/zip line system.
We’ll ride our fold-down bicycles to the nearest loading cable and, like a removable ski-lift chair, we’ll hook it up and propel ourselves to school and work E.T. style. People in office buildings will look out their windows and marvel at the steady stream of helmets and gravity-defying wheels in a space where both sparrows and cyclists coexist.

Not all Americans think Canadians live in igloos
September 30, 2009

BY COREY JOHNSON Managing Editor
Before I begin, I want to say that I have never had anything against the United States of America. I hate the Canadian Football League, yet I’m an avid fan of the National Football League (especially my Tennessee Titans).

Currently the National Hockey Leauge has no commitment to take part in the Winter Olympics beyond 2010 and comments made by Commissioner Gary Bettman suggest they will not be extending such commitment for future Olympics. Alexander Ovechkin countered by saying he didn’t care what sanctions the NHL were to place on him, he would be playing for his country in 2014. Evgeni Malkin immediately backed the Russian superstar.

Everything's (not) just wonderful
September 30, 2009

BY MARK MILLARD Editor-in-Chief
For the sake of simplifying this public letter, I choose to hold you accountable for everything I am about to say. Although I should really be blaming the likes of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and several other rich recording artists, you were the first person that came to mind. If any of our readers don’t comprehend why, they can simply turn to Google.

September 30, 2009

BY KATIE DUNCAN Staff Reporter
For Humber ITAL’s Michael Acheampong, being a shooting guard and small forward for the Humber Hawks men’s basketball team is no big feat.
After all, he’s been working at it since an early age.
